Why do we do things like this? 14:36
We, like idiots, think the day before Christmas Eve is a good time to visit Knott’s Berry Farm.

Ron and Phyllis 16:28
Mark and I have a rousing discussion about chicken with Ron, a nice fellow we pass the time with, in the endless line at Mrs. Knott’s Chicken Dinner Restaurant.

How Alan was inspired to write this week’s song 26:20

It was inspired by my favorite Capra movie, MEET JOHN DOE
Gary Cooper gives a great speech about how great everyone behaves around Christmas and we should all be that way every day of the year
The Lennon style melody came after that, which is sort of second nature for me.
And there you have it
I made a little video for it last year with my daughter, Alanna, as “the angel from the clouds”

Merry Christmas!
Happy Everything!

Nice King Hanukkah Song by Jonathan Mann

A Very Ice King Christmas (Jonathan Mann) / CC BY-NC 4.0

I love Adventure Time so much, and I really relate to the Ice King. He is my favorite character. I wanted to write some songs about him, and (as I’m writing this) it’s Christmas time, and somehow that seemed like a perfect fit. I wrote these songs over the course of two weeks through my Song A Day project.

I’m giving away the album for free, but if you pay money for it, I’ll donate half the money to Sweet Relief, a charity that gets health care to working musicians, and the other half to Child’s Play, an amazing video games based charity. Check ’em out! Mathematical!

What an enjoyable, diverse podcast. It’s so much fun to get a peek inside your lives. Oh that all of us were brave enough to seek out some kind of adventure once or twice a month. I think we’d all be a lot happier having something new to look forward to. And “Imagine Christmas” was the perfect song to end the show with. Such beautiful, beautiful sentiments. Great job! And Merry Christmas right back at cha’!

Happy New Year to you my friend! I’m pretty proud of this episode and enjoy it too. Mark’s Twitter explanation was off the cuff and had me rolling. It was fun bunch of clips and I especially love Alan’s song too. I was honored that he gave me permission to use it. He’s awesome, as are you. Thanks for taking the time to comment and spread some holiday cheer. 🙂
