I launch the Daily Adventure Tales podcast. I share how and why Daily Adventure Tales came to be and why I am qualified to write about adventure. I decide to challenge myself to go hiking at dawn “yikes” instead of sitting on the sofa and planning a TV day.

Discover Your Retirement Identity – seminar

My friend Laurie Weaver will be giving a retirement workshop at the Crescenta-Canada YMCA later this month. Laurie’s philosophy about managing retirement choices (not just financial ones) parallels a lot of what we talked about when you helped me plan for the financial aspects of my life. I will be attending with anticipation. -Jane Rollins Neff to her financial planner

Laurie is a fantastic instructor. She uses common topics that everyone knows about to bring attendees together and make learning more fun and interesting. I highly recommend taking one of her classes! – Amy G. Trahan

“Discover Your Retirement Identity” is a free workshop that features a documentary of retirees and pre-retirees providing their spin on retirement. The film encourages group discussion of the contents as well as sharing personal stories about the trials and tribulations, as well as the successes, in pre- and post-retirement life.

The workshop is also a kick-off event for the YMCA’s new “Retirement Discovery Support Group” — four weeks of group meetings that explore topics such as where and how to discover passion, value, identity, and fun in the post-work daily routine. What might a retiree expect, and how might a retiree thrive are two retirement questions requiring resources and personal insight before answering. Group discussions and information sharing are the key to these answers.
